It is reported that FAW Jiefang has successfully developed the seventh-generation heavy trucks and L4 series smart cars. The successful drive test of the L3 series smart trucks is the first step for FAW Jiefang to explore intelligent technology. The L4 series smart cars are the perfect showcase for FAW Jiefang's intelligent R&D strength to a new level. According to FAW Jiefang's technicians, both L3 and L4 series are autonomous vehicles and all the driving operations are performed by the system. However, L3 can only run under limited road and environmental conditions—for example, on an expressway, while L4 serves all road and environmental conditions and can travel from the point of departure to the destination without manual assistance.
